Nine by Silverlining and Divinity Atelier were born from testimony.

Founded by Trinidad-born designer and psychologist Petal Ennis, the brand was shaped through resilience, faith, creativity, and the belief that beauty can rise from broken places. After immigrating to Canada at seven years old, Petal experienced the disorientation of leaving behind home, extended family, culture, and familiarity to navigate language barriers, bullying, racism, isolation, financial hardship, and family struggles with addiction and instability.

Through every season, creativity became both refuge and expression. Beginning in modeling and acting at fifteen, she immersed herself in fashion, classical dance, choir, musical theatre, runway, choreography, and creative direction — eventually working alongside photographers, filmmakers, stylists, makeup artists, and designers while helping develop emerging talent through fashion shows, casting, backstage coordination, and movement coaching.

At the same time, she worked multiple jobs and carried student loans while pursuing a degree in psychology. Raised Catholic, experiences and the world had distanced her from God. In 2016, a friend invited her to Christ city church where the moment she heard the worship everything changed. She became a new believer and turned to pursuing knowledge through Alpha and a diploma in theology. Petal was now a psychologist, mother, clinic owner, worship singer, and entrepreneur. Even through seasons of uncertainty — including surgery that threatened the loss of her voice due to a growing thyroid cyst affecting her vocal nerve — faith remained the foundation. One week after surgery, she returned not only to work, but to worship and sing again.

Today, as a mother of two raising children seventeen years apart while building both Nine by Silverlining and the luxury house Divinity Atelier, Petal designs for those who understand that the battle is won on their knees. For those who carry testimony. For those who have found peace, refuge, mercy, grace, and restoration in Christ through the storms of life.

Nine and Divinity Atelier are more than fashion labels. They are garments of praise — elevated pieces designed to move between everyday life and meaningful moments with intention, comfort, beauty, and faith. Sometimes bold. Sometimes quiet. Always rooted in truth and Spirit.
